Marcus Semien Clubs Leadoff Homer
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays second baseman Marcus Semien took the second pitch from Gerrit Cole over the fence for his 16th homer of the season as his club fell 3-2 to the Yankees on Wednesday. It ended up being his only hit of the ballgame as he finished the night going 1-for-4 to put his batting average at .289 for the year. Semien has picked up a hit in eight of his last nine contests as the leadoff man in Toronto, acting as a terrific table-setter for the power bats that follow him in the lineup. He's filling up all fantasy categories with 47 runs, 38 RBI, and nine steals, but it will be interesting to see where he hits in the lineup with George Springer making a return to the diamond in the near future.
