Marco Gonzales Roughed Up on Opening Day
Marco Gonzales got off to a disappointing start to his 2021 season Thursday, not only uncharacteristically walking the first batter he faced, but also giving up three home runs. All told, Gonzales allowed five runs on eight hits and three walks over six innings, with only two strikeouts. He was lucky to avoid the loss, as the Mariners made a furious comeback in the eighth inning. In terms of fantasy value, Gonzales is most relevant for his strong ratios. Too many outings with this many runners on the bases could tank his value. He'll look to right the ship in his next appearance.
