Marco Gonzales Finishes Off The Regular Season Strong
3 years agoSeattle Mariners left-hander Marco Gonzales had a strong final regular season start on Wednesday in the eventual 5-4 win over the Detroit Tigers, but he didn't factor into the decision. In seven innings, Gonzales, allowed four runs (three earned) on eight hits while walking two and striking out five for a quality start. The 30-year-old southpaw probably won't make another start in 2022 unless the Mariners advance past the Toronto Blue Jays in this weekend's American League Wild-Card Series. He finishes the 2022 regular season with a 4.13 ERA (5.05 FIP), a 1.33 WHIP, 103 strikeouts and 50 walks in 183 innings over his 32 starts for Seattle.
