1 year agoPhiladelphia Flyers defenseman Marc Staal is set to miss weeks with an upper-body injury sustained in Thursday's 4-1 win over the visiting Edmonton Oilers. Staal was tripped up by a falling Warren Foegele in the second period and did not return for the third period. According to Flyers head coach John Tortorella, Staal is out 'weeks', likely in the four-to-six-weeks range. The veteran rearguard signed a one-year, $1.1 million contract with the Flyers in free agency this summer and is without a point with three shots, six blocks, and four penalty minutes across four games so far this season. As he has been throughout his career, Staal remains well off the fantasy radar given his defense-first approach.--Brenton Kemp
