5 years agoToronto Raptors center Marc Gasol provided 14 of his 20 points in the opening half in the nine-point win over the Warriors in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday. Gasol added seven rebounds with two steals and a block before fouling out in 30 minutes of action. Gasol was crucial on this night at both ends as he took advantage of some mismatches down low and was superb at being the second man on the double teams on Stephen Curry as he was able to roam as he was often matched up with Jordan Bell or Kevon Looney. We can assume the Warriors will make some adjustments for Game 2, with slowing down Gasol on the top of their list.--Gianni Costantiello
