Manuel Margot Stays Hot With 10th Homer
6 years agoSan Diego Padres outfielder Manuel Margot launched his fourth homer in his last seven games Saturday, finishing the night going 3-for-4. He collected three RBI on the night and is now slashing .254/.330/.430 on the year with 10 homers, 47 runs, 27 RBI, and 15 steals in 107 games played. With Franmil Reyes out of town, Margot's playing time has increased along with his production. He's hit .282 with four steals since the break and .375 so far in August, making him a player worth owning for the stretch run. Margot has underwhelmed as a big leaguer for the most part, but still possesses a power/speed combo that touted him as a top prospect a few years ago.

Manuel Margot, Kyle Farmer Headed To Free Agency
5 months agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Manuel Margot and infielder Kyle Farmer had their 2025 club options declined and will head to free agency according to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com. Margot held a .238/.289/.337 line with four home runs and five stolen bases across 129 games last season. Farmer posted a similar .214/.293/.353 slash line with five home runs and three swiped bags in 107 games of action in 2024. Margot logged most of his starts in center field while Farmer was deployed all over the infield. Both batters will likely be viewed as reserve options during free agency and should not be on your fantasy radar heading into 2025.

Twins Activate Manuel Margot, Christian Vazquez
6 months agoThe Minnesota Twins activated outfielder Manuel Margot (groin) from the 10-day injured list and catcher Christian Vazquez from the paternity list on Wednesday and optioned infielder Michael Helman and catcher Jair Camargo to the minors in corresponding moves. Vazquez will do the catching and bat ninth on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Angels and right-hander Jack Kochanowicz at Target Field. It's a promising matchup for Vazquez and the Twins, but the 34-year-old Puerto Rican backstop has very little fantasy upside in the nine-hole. He's hitting .228 (60-for-263) on the year with seven homers and 27 RBI. Vazquez will serve as Ryan Jeffers' backup now that he's back. Margot is recovered from a mild right-groin strain and will return to reserve outfield duties that fantasy managers can ignore in mixed formats.

Manuel Margot Stays Hot
9 months agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Manuel Margot went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's victory versus the division rival Detroit Tigers. Margot tied the game at three in the bottom of the fifth inning when he sent a ball 406 feet off Tarik Skubal to tie the game at that point. The veteran has been on a bit of a heater lately with nine hits over his last 29 at-bats, including two homers and six RBI. For the season, the veteran is hitting .244 with three longballs and 19 RBI. Margot is a fine addition for those in deeper daily leagues that are seeking a hot bat at the moment, but the veteran has shown throughout his career that in terms of fantasy, he is best served on the waiver wire.

Manuel Margot Suffers Hand Contusion Tuesday
12 months agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Manuel Margot (hand) was hit by a pitch during an exhibition game on Tuesday versus the Atlanta Braves and departed early with a left-hand contusion. However, the Twins expect him to be fine for Opening Day on Thursday. The 29-year-old was traded from the Los Angeles Dodgers to the Twins this spring and is projected to open the 2024 regular season as a fourth outfielder in Minnesota, which leaves him very little fantasy value in AL-only leagues. The Dominican outfielder spent the last four seasons playing for the Tampa Bay Rays and slashed .264/.317/.375 with 19 home runs, 153 RBI, 41 stolen bases and 149 runs scored in 360 total regular-season games. You can avoid Margot in mixed fantasy leagues in 2024.
