Manuel Margot Knocks In Five
6 years agoSan Diego Padres outfielder Manuel Margot went 3-for-5 with a homer, triple and five RBI in Tuesday’s victory over the Milwaukee Brewers. Margot finished a double short of the cycle and the monster game raises his slash to .258/.312/.393. Although he’s struggled most the year, Margot has hit safely in 15 of his last 17 games with a .338 average and 15 runs over that span. The young outfielder’s counting stats are pedestrian, with only five dingers and a 53 percent success rate on the basepaths (10-for-19), but he’s certainly turned the corner since June. His sluggish start and the Padres team woes have made him a forgotten asset, but Margot plays daily, bats atop the order and is capable of a strong finish. He remains available in most fantasy leagues.
