Manuel Margot Being Eyed By Yankees, Mets
12 months agoTampa Bay Rays outfielder Manuel Margot is being discussed in trade talks with the New York Yankees and New York Mets. It was recently reported Margot was a strong trade candidate due to his $10 million salary for the 2024 season, a sum the low-budget Rays are likely wanting to avoid. The Yankees are in search of outfield help this offseason while the Mets will also look to add to their outfield mix after trading Mark Canha at last season's trade deadline. For his part, Margot hit .264 with four home runs and nine stolen bases across 99 games last season. His bat has performed below the league average in all but one of his eight seasons while he owns a career wRC+ of 90. He will likely stay off the fantasy radar again in 2024 barring a major turnaround at the plate.
