1 year agoOakland Athletics catcher Manny Pina (wrist) was removed from Sunday's game early on Sunday against the Boston Red Sox due to ongoing issues he's had with his left wrist. Pina started the year on the injured list with the same issue and had a foul tip hit off the wrist on his receiving hand earlier in Sunday's game. "He's been battling the wrist for a while," said manager Mark Kotsay following the game. "It's been a process for Manny and it's unfortunate that it's a recurring issue. We'll get him evaluated and see how we go forward with him." Pina just made his season debut early last week, but he could be headed right back to the injured list, depending on how he recovers during the All-Star break this week.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
