Manny Machado Hits 17th Homer In Loss
3 years agoSan Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado was one of the few bright spots for the Padres Sunday, going 2-for-4 with a solo home run off Marlins reliever Anthony Bender in a 9-3 loss to Miami. Machado has been excellent over the last month, slashing .337/.410/.625 with seven home runs in his last 30 games. With an .852 OPS, 17 homers, nine steals, 60 runs, and 68 RBI on the season in 338 at-bats, Machado is an excellent all-around producer. Fantasy managers should feel confident plugging him in week-in and week-out, especially as the Padres bulk up their offense ahead of the trade deadline.
