Manny Machado Back Doing Baseball Activities Tuesday
1 year agoSan Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado (hand) increased his baseball activities on Tuesday, throwing long toss and swinging the bat, according to MLB.com. The six-time All-Star landed on the 10-day injured list with a left-hand fracture on May 19 after he was hit by a pitch on May 15. Machado has a chance to return when eligible on May 26 but still has a little ways to go in his recovery. It's been a miserable season for the superstar, who was sporting a .231/.282/.372 slash line with five long balls, 18 runs, 19 RBI, and a pair of steals over 40 games before going down with the ailment. Fantasy managers should continue to see Rougned Odor in the infield while the 30-year-old is on the shelf, but he hasn't been even a decent hitter since 2016 and is batting .186 this year through 25 contests.
