Temper Expectations With Rece Hinds
4 months agoDespite one of the best opening weeks for a player in recent memory, fantasy managers should temper their expectations in the second half for rookie outfielder Rece Hinds of the Cincinnati Reds. Hinds, 23, burst onto the scene last week after being promoted to the Reds and went 11-for-26 with three doubles, five homers, 11 RBI and a pair of stolen bases. Yes, you read that correctly. However, despite an insane week, fantasy managers should be selling high on Hinds, as it will likely be the best week of his entire career. As the Reds' No. 15 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, Hinds showed no signs of this coming, as he was hitting .216 with 13 homers, 41 RBI and 12 stolen bases for Triple-A Louisville this season. Although it is a great story, it is unrealistic for fantasy managers to think that Hinds will keep this up, and the All-Star break could only hurt his momentum. Moving forward, fantasy managers should try to sell high on Hinds, as he could be hitting the waiver wire as soon as he comes back down to earth.
