Maikel Franco Drives In Lone Phillies Run In Defeat
6 years agoThe Philadelphia Phillies took on the Boston Red Sox, baseball’s best team, Monday night at Fenway Park and matched up well. They would ultimately lose 2-1 in extra innings, as the offense simply couldn’t score runs. The club’s lone run, which came in the second inning, was a result of third baseman Maikel Franco’s hot bat. The 25-year-old, currently putting the finishing touches on his best offensive month of the season, recorded two hits, including an RBI single. Franco is hitting .318 in July bringing his season average up to .274 with 17 home runs and 53 RBI.
