3 years agoImproving his win streak to eight fights, Magomed Ankalaev earned a close victory in Saturday night's main event by defeating Thiago Santos via unanimous decision (46-49, 46-49, 47-48). In 25 minutes of action, Ankalaev tallied 78 significant strikes (114 total strikes) and landed one of his two takedown tries on the night. With a win over a former title challenger, look for Ankalaev to earn a title matchup at some point in 2022. The salary point will be high, but for now, he's proven to be worth the price tag.--Matt Bricker
