Madison Bumgarner Faces Live Hitters
2 years agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Madison Bumgarner was able to face live hitters for the third time on Monday. The veteran southpaw is getting closer to making his Cactus League debut. The Diamondbacks are bringing Bumgarner along slowly to save on some wear-and-tear on his body. The 33-year-old posted a 4.88 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 112/49 K/BB ratio over 158 2/3 innings in 30 starts last season. The hope is that he'll bounce back this season. The expectation is that Bumgarner will take the mound within the next week, so he should be ready to go by Opening Day.
