MacKenzie Gore To Pitch After Clevinger On Tuesday
3 years agoAccording to San Diego Padres beat writer Kevin Acee, rookie left-handed pitcher MacKenzie Gore will be utilized out of the bullpen behind starter Mike Clevinger on Tuesday. The Padres have a surplus of starting pitchers now that both Clevinger and Blake Snell are healthy and Gore appears to be the odd man out for now. The 23-year-old has certainly looked worthy of a rotation spot thus far this year. Over five starts, he's gone 2-1 with a 2.42 ERA and a 1.23 WHIP. His move to the bullpen makes things difficult for fantasy managers. In shallow leagues, he can be dropped, but keep your eye out for any further announcements from the Padres. While he has a rotation spot, he's essentially a must-roster player.
