New Jersey Devils goaltender MacKenzie Blackwood sustained an undisclosed injury Thursday night versus Edmonton. He appeared to have tweaked something in the second period when he slid across the crease to make a save. His night ended with 16 saves from 18 shots faced. Vitek Vanecek came in to replace Blackwood and witnessed an early Christmas miracle as New Jersey turned a 3-2 loss into a 4-3 win late in the third period with goals inside seven seconds. The Czech netminder pushed away 18 of 19 shots. Vanecek will obviously start getting all the burn if Blackwood is forced to miss time. He earned a fourth straight victory on Thursday and is now 4-1-0 for the season with a 2.06 goals-against average and a .911 save percentage.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
