New Jersey Devils goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood picked up his ninth victory of the season in his team's 4-2 defeat of the New York Rangers on Monday, stopping 30 of 32 shots against in the contest. Following the Devils trade of Keith Kinkaid in late February, the 22-year-old has become a full-time NHL netminder in New Jersey and has fared well in splitting time with fellow backstop Corey Schneider. In fact, the rookie has put together a very strong first NHL showing in 2018-2019, posting a 2.59 goals-against average, a .917 save percentage and two shutouts in 20 starts on the campaign. He has a real shot at winning starting duties in net for the Devils next season, and his fantasy value should increase as a result.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller

Colorado Avalanche goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood stopped 23 shots en route to his first career postseason shutout in Saturday's 4-0 victory over the Dallas Stars. Blackwood had suffered a pair of overtime defeats in the series before putting together a perfect display. Colorado last recorded a shutout in the playoffs in Game 2 of the 2022 Stanley Cup Finals. Blackwood impressed with the Avalanche during the regular season, going 22-12-3, and has maintained the momentum in the playoffs. After four games in the series, Blackwood boasts a 1.60 goals-against average and a .939 save percentage.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Colorado Avalanche goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood is expected to be in the crease for Wednesday's big clash against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Scott Wedgewood has impressed with four consecutive wins, but the Avalanche go back to Blackwood on Wednesday, who had his own four-game winning run end with a 2-1 shootout defeat against the Minnesota Wild a week ago. This was only his third loss since the start of February. Blackwood has had a great time with the Avalanche, posting an 18-7-3 record with two shutouts. He holds a .919 save percentage and has allowed 2.17 goals. Beating the Maple Leafs at their places is never easy, but the bookmakers expect Blackwood to collect the victory on Wednesday, listing Colorado as a -133 favorite.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Colorado Avalanche goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood (illness) is battling an illness and will not start on Friday evening when the Avalanche face the Calgary Flames. As a result, Scott Wedgewood will get the starting nod. Blackwood has performed very well over his previous five outings. During this stretch, he has held a 4-0-1 record with a 2.17 GAA with a .909 save percentage. Before this stretch, he held a similar 2.41 GAA with a .913 save percentage over his last eight contests. Fantasy managers should monitor his status but he should be in position to return to the lineup on Sunday when the Avalanche face the Dallas Stars. Wedgewood enters Friday's game with a two-game win streak. Over his last three, he has held a stellar 1.01 GAA with a .957 save percentage and should be viewed as a top play in DFS competitions.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

Colorado Avalanche goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood will take the starter's crease on Thursday evening against his former club, the San Jose Sharks. The Sharks traded Blackwood earlier this season and the 28-year-old has been one of the best netminders in the sport since moving to Colorado. He is currently riding a two-game winning streak into Thursday's tilt. Over his past eight games, the 28-year-old has held a stellar 6-2 record with a 1.77 GAA and a .929 save percentage. During this span, he posted two shutouts and only allowed more than two goals in two of these starts. Through 44 total games, Blackwood has held a 22-16-5 record with a .916 save percentage with a 2.49 GAA. Fantasy managers should view Blackwood as a must-start goaltender moving forward and a top option in DFS facing the San Jose Sharks.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller
