Mackenzie Blackwood Earns Win On Monday
6 years agoNew Jersey Devils goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood picked up his ninth victory of the season in his team's 4-2 defeat of the New York Rangers on Monday, stopping 30 of 32 shots against in the contest. Following the Devils trade of Keith Kinkaid in late February, the 22-year-old has become a full-time NHL netminder in New Jersey and has fared well in splitting time with fellow backstop Corey Schneider. In fact, the rookie has put together a very strong first NHL showing in 2018-2019, posting a 2.59 goals-against average, a .917 save percentage and two shutouts in 20 starts on the campaign. He has a real shot at winning starting duties in net for the Devils next season, and his fantasy value should increase as a result.
