Luke Weaver Picks Up The Win In Return
3 years agoArizona Diamondbacks pitcher Luke Weaver (3-3) allowed one earned run on four hits while striking out three across six innings during Wednesday's 8-3 win over the San Diego Padres. He didn't walk anyone and picked up his third win of the season. The 28-year-old has been sidelined since May with a shoulder injury and was activated from the 60-day injured list ahead of Wednesday's start. Weaver was sharp in his first start back, limiting the Padres to one run over six innings. He threw 79 pitches, landing 51 for strikes. Weaver owns a 4.11 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and 41 strikeouts over 46 innings in 2021. The Diamondbacks right-hander can be used as a streamer in a plus matchup at home against the Texas Rangers.
