Luke Voit Clubs Pinch-Hit Home Run
3 years agoNew York Yankees first baseman Luke Voit clubbed a pinch-hit homer in the ninth inning of Thursday's loss to Toronto. Voit was stuck in a 1-for-14 slump heading into the contest, so it was nice to see him deliver after manager Aaron Boone turned to him in a key situation. The slugger has taken a backseat to Anthony Rizzo at first base, with his only playing time coming in the form of starts at designated hitter. Voit owns a respectable .253/.333/.442 slash line with nine homers, 32 RBI, and 24 runs scored in 190 at-bats. Still, it's been a disappointing season for the slugger, as he has been unable to live up to his ADP- and his upside is severely limited given his current lack of playing time.
