Luke List Could Struggle At The Players Championship
1 year agoLuke List started off well at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. An early 69 put him position for better things. Instead, the American golfer turned in a 78. After a 72 on Saturday, List bottomed out with a 79. That dropped him to 56th on the event. After missing the cut the week before, things have turned sour for List once again. He just nearly won The Genesis Invitational less than four weeks ago. However, TPC Sawgrass could be a struggle with his 54.19% driving accuracy (152nd) and putting which ranks 118th in terms of strokes gained.

Luke List A Risky Play With Upside At Mexican Open
2 months agoLuke List has competed in four events this year with results of T72, a missed cut, T56, and most recently a T36 finish at the WM Phoenix Open. He now turns his attention to the Mexican Open, an event he has played in only once, missing the cut in 2023. At 7,456 yards, Vidanta Vallarta is a course that requires length off the tee, which plays to List's strength. He ranks 29th on tour in driving distance, averaging 312.9 yards per drive. Additionally, List ranks in the 77th percentile for proximity from 200-plus yards over the past 12 months, a range that accounted for 43.3% of all approach shots at this event last year. However, List has lost 10.324 strokes on approach this season, a concerning statistic given the importance of approach play this week. If List can improve his iron play, his $6,900 price tag could make him a worthwhile risk for fantasy managers.

Luke List Looking For More Birdies At Torrey Pines
2 months agoLuke List has played in two events so far in 2025. The American golfer is now in his 40's and the results in January have not been impressive. It is early but a 72nd and a missed cut last week have List searching for answers. The overall game early for List has been lackluster approaching the greens and putting. This was the same issue in 2024 where List ranked outside the Top 100 in both metrics. Worse, List was off in the first two rounds in putts per round (29.35 and 30.19). Missed putting opportunities have been a trademark too often with the golfer. Despite this, List did win the 2022 event in a playoff after a magical 66. Can List be a factor? He might be a surprise add in betting circles as a longer shot.

Luke List In Solid Form Heading To TPC Craig Ranch
11 months agoLuke List, who finished T19 at last week's Zurich Classic, will compete in this week's CJ Cup Byron Nelson at TPC Craig Ranch. List has had a mixed year in 2024, with four missed cuts in 12 starts, one top-five, and two top-25 finishes. However, he finished T34 at last year's tournament and is expected to perform well again. In last year's edition, over 35% of approach shots were taken from over 200 yards. List's proximity to the hole on approach shots from over 200 yards in the fairway ranks in the 96th percentile over the past 12 months. Even though List may be overlooked this week, he could be a valuable addition to DFS lineups.

Luke List Looking To Regain Some Form In Houston
1 year agoThings have been rough for Luke List since finishing T2 at The Genesis Invitational in February with a 56th-place finish at the API sandwiched between two missed cuts. It has been due to bad play on and around the greens, where List has lost an average of -0.34 strokes putting and -0.62 strokes around the green over his last three starts. The big-hitting guy from Seattle has never been considered a great player in those aspects historically, so many of his strong showings seem to come out of thin air. But coming off the missed cut at TPC Sawgrass, the former Vanderbilt Commodore was trending in the right direction in every area except around the greens, and at a much more bomber-friendly course at Memorial Park, he is an intriguing play at $9,700 on FanDuel.
