Luke List A Risky Play With Upside At Mexican Open
1 day agoLuke List has competed in four events this year with results of T72, a missed cut, T56, and most recently a T36 finish at the WM Phoenix Open. He now turns his attention to the Mexican Open, an event he has played in only once, missing the cut in 2023. At 7,456 yards, Vidanta Vallarta is a course that requires length off the tee, which plays to List's strength. He ranks 29th on tour in driving distance, averaging 312.9 yards per drive. Additionally, List ranks in the 77th percentile for proximity from 200-plus yards over the past 12 months, a range that accounted for 43.3% of all approach shots at this event last year. However, List has lost 10.324 strokes on approach this season, a concerning statistic given the importance of approach play this week. If List can improve his iron play, his $6,900 price tag could make him a worthwhile risk for fantasy managers.
