Luke Jackson Rebounds After Demotion from Closer
5 years agoAfter giving up five runs in his past two appearances, Atlanta reliever Luke Jackson was replaced as the closer by the Braves in favor of trade acquisition Shane Greene. Jackson bounced back with gusto on Saturday night against the visiting Cincinnati Reds in his first appearance since the demotion, striking out the side in the 10th inning after Greene blew the save in the ninth. He'd then pick up the win after Ronald Acuna hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the inning. Jackson will remain in a setup role for now but if Greene struggles then he could find himself with another opportunity.
