Luka Doncic "Progressing," Remains Without A Timetable
1 year agoAccording to Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd, guard Luka Doncic (calf) "is progressing." after suffering a strain during practice a few weeks ago. "He continues to do on-court work," said Kidd. "My hope is that he resumes practicing next week, but we'll see where we are after the weekend." The 2018 No. 3 overall pick averaged a career-high 32.4 points last season, adding 8.6 rebounds, 8.0 assists, and 1.4 steals. Without question, Doncic is expected to remain a productive component of every fantasy lineup once he's healthy. However, it appears the 24-year-old might miss the opener versus the San Antonio Spurs. But fantasy managers are used to occasional absences from Doncic at this point in his career, considering he hasn't played more than 66 games in each of his previous four seasons. At any rate, Kyrie Irving will become the undisputed primary ball-handler for Wednesday's contest (and beyond) if Doncic is sidelined. With Jaden Hardy (ankle) potentially sitting out as well, Dante Exum could see meaningful minutes.
