Luis Severino Out For Season With High-Grade Oblique Strain
1 year agoNew York Yankees right-hander Luis Severino (oblique) will miss the remainder of the 2023 season after being diagnosed with a high-grade left oblique strain on Saturday. The 29-year-old was pulled from Friday's start versus the Milwaukee Brewers with a left side issue. He was later diagnosed with an oblique strain. The right-hander finishes the season with a 6.65 ERA, 1.65 WHIP, and a 79:34 K: BB across 89 1/3 innings in 2023. Severino is an impending free agent next offseason, and it's entirely possible his career as a Yankee could be over. The veteran will look to fully recover this offseason from his oblique strain and rebound in 2024 after a dismal 2023 campaign.
