Luis Severino Likely To Join Yankees In The Next Few Days
3 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Luis Severino (shoulder, groin) is likely to be activated from the injured list in the next few days, according to Yankees manager Aaron Boone. The 27-year-old hasn't pitched in the majors since the 2019 ALCS. He underwent Tommy John surgery after the 2019 postseason and he has been working his way back ever since with multiple obstacles along the way, including a groin injury he suffered this year. The Yankees haven't made it clear how exactly Severino will be utilized upon joining the team. He will either be used as an opener or he'll pitch out of the bullpen. Either way, he isn't someone worth targeting in redraft leagues for the final weeks of the year as the team will certainly keep his pitch count down.
