Luis Severino Hit Hard In Tampa Bay
6 years agoMaking his first start since the All-Star break, New York Yankees ace Luis Severino was once again knocked around, this time by the Rays in Tampa Bay. The 24-year-old, who surrendered four runs in five innings his last time out, was pounded for four more earned runs to go with 11 hits, the most he’s ever allowed. Severino also gave up two more home runs, making that three straight games of at least two home runs conceded. While he did record eight more strikeouts, he was pulled following two more hits to begin the sixth. The New York Yankees might have a problem if Severino goes into a slide as his last two starts hint at. Already in need of pitching help, instability from their No. 1 starter will only make matters worse.
