Luis Severino Faces Hitters For First Time Since Surgery
4 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Luis Severino (elbow) threw a live batting practice session on Thursday. It was his first time throwing to live hitters since undergoing Tommy John surgery to remove a bone chip from his right elbow in February 2020. Severino threw about 30 pitches in the batting practice session and reportedly touched 96 miles per hour on the radar gun. The Yankees are hoping to have Severino make his return to the rotation sometime around midseason. Thursday's successful session was certainly a big step in the direction toward making that happen.
