3 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Luis Severino (elbow, groin) says he is close to getting back on the mound. Severino has been limited to playing catch for the last two weeks, though he was notably able to do some light running on the field at Yankee Stadium Wednesday. The 27-year-old righty would be in line with manager Aaron Boone's forecast from earlier this week when he said that he expected Severino back on a mound in a "week to 10 days." Severino seems to be trending toward a late-July return, though he's not a priority stash at this point, as the Yankees figure to be careful with him.--Tim Capurso
