Luis Robert Hits His Ninth Home Run On Wednesday
2 years agoChicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert had a big game in the team's 9-8, 10-inning win over the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday. He went 2-for-4 with a home run, a walk, two RBI and two runs scored. While Robert has a solid .289 batting average on the year, he's been struggling to produce much power. Wednesday's home run was just his ninth of the season and he's slugging just .425 across 65 games on the year. We've seen his average exit velocity dip from 91.2 mph last year to 89.1 mph this year while his ground ball rate has increased from 36.6% last year to 48.4% this year. He'll need to start making better contact and lifting the ball more in order to deliver the high-end fantasy production we know he's capable of the rest of the way.
