Luis Rengifo Injures His Hamstring On Friday
19 seconds agoLos Angeles Angels infielder Luis Rengifo (hamstring) left Friday's contest early against the visiting Cleveland Guardians with left-hamstring tightness, according to MLB.com's Rhett Bollinger. Before leaving, Rengifo went 1-for-2 with a double. He was replaced at second base by Kyren Paris. While fantasy managers should consider the 28-year-old day-to-day until further notice, it should be noted that Rengifo also missed some time in spring training with a left-hamstring injury that could be related. We wouldn't be surprised if it's an injury that sends him to the injured list, but we'll wait for more information. At the very least, Rengifo probably won't be available for Game 2 of the series on Saturday at Angel Stadium. The Venezuelan switch-hitting infielder came into Friday's game hitting just .174 (4-for-23) in the early going with a double and RBI in six games. If Rengifo misses extended time with this injury, Paris, Tim Anderson and Nicky Lopez are all candidates to see time at the keystone.
