Luis Patino, Nick Anderson On The Mend
2 years agoTampa Bay Rays right-hander Luis Patino (oblique) faced hitters for the first time on June 1 and felt good while using all four of his pitches. Manager Kevin Cash said Patino will face hitters at least one more time after initially getting injured in his season debut on April 11. Meanwhile, reliever Nick Anderson (elbow) is throwing two to three bullpen sessions a week, with his latest coming on June 4. He'll likely need a few more side sessions before moving to live batting practice and then a minor league rehab assignment. Anderson's timetable is unclear, but the initial projection after his elbow surgery was that he'd be back with the Rays after the All-Star break in July.
