Luis Oviedo Will Start For Pirates Tuesday Night
3 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Luis Oviedo will get the start in the series opener with the Brewers on Tuesday night. Oviedo is being called upon to make this start after Pittsburgh traded away starting pitcher Tyler Anderson to the Phillies earlier in the day on Tuesday. He had only recently been activated from the injured list, after missing time due to a quad strain. Prior to the injury, he had struggled working out of the bullpen earlier this year, going 1-1 with a 7.23 ERA, 1.768 WHIP and 21.8 percent strikeout rate over 18 2/3 innings of work. There's not really much upside for Oviedo in this matchup, so managers can ignore him in the majority of formats.
