Luis Gil Returned To Triple-A After Start Tuesday
3 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Luis Gil was returned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre following his impressive start on Tuesday. The 23-year-old dazzled over six scoreless innings against the Baltimore Orioles but one of the "replacement players" following starting pitchers Gerrit Cole and Jordan Montgomery's placement on the COVID-19 list, thus the roster move. It wouldn't be a surprise to see Gil get recalled for another start Sunday against the Seattle Mariners. More information should be available as the suddenly shorthanded Yankees approach the weekend and sort out a plan.
