Luis Gil Has Uneven Performance In Monday's Win
3 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Luis Gil produced an odd statistical line in Monday's no-decision against the Twins. Gil pitched six innings, allowing five earned runs on seven hits while issuing one walk. The young right-hander struck out eight batters while inducing a very impressive 16 whiffs, 13 of them on his slider. There's no doubt that Gil can rack up strikeouts as well as swings and misses, though he has yet to rediscover his form from earlier this year, having allowed seven walks in his last outing and now five runs on Monday. Gil has a bright future in the big leagues, but it's too risky to count on him in redraft formats right now.
