Luis Garcia Emerging In Houston
4 years agoHouston Astros starter Luis Garcia continued to showcase his swing-and-miss stuff and struck out eight New York Yankees in 4 2/3 innings on Wednesday. Garcia only allowed two hits -- an RBI double and a home run, both of which came off the bat of Giancarlo Stanton. The only other baserunners Garcia allowed were via two walks and he is looking more and more like the next breakout starter for the Astros. Left off many Astros top prospects lists entirely, Garcia is seemingly on a mission to prove all doubters wrong. The owner of a 10.65 K/9, Garcia has quickly opened the eyes of fantasy managers everywhere as a viable starter until Jake Odorizzi returns. Slated to face the Angels and Rangers over the Astros' homestand next week, Garcia needs to be rostered in all head-to-head leagues. At only 24 years old, performances like this one ensure the Astros are in no rush to get Odorizzi back.
