Luis Garcia Dealing With Stomach Illness
2 years agoUpdating a previous report, Washington Nationals second baseman Luis Garcia (illness) was removed from Thursday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies due to a stomach illness. Initially, it was believed that he had suffered a side injury due to how he was favoring his left side after a ground out in the game, but Nats manager Davey Martinez clarified after the game that Garcia was under the weather. Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports reports that the illness sounds like the same illness that kept his teammate Nelson Cruz out of action for a few games recently. Garcia should be considered day-to-day at this point.
