6 years agoNew York Yankees reliever George Kontos' stint with his original team was short-lived this time around, as the team announced Wednesday that he was being designated for assignment. Taking his place on the roster will be right-hander Luis Cessa. Cessa will start Wednesday night against the Tampa Bay Rays. With CC Sabathia (knee) on the disabled list, Cessa will get his chances, depending on how long the veteran is on the shelf. Kontos pitched well in his lone appearance with the Yanks, striking out two Mets hitters during a clean inning. That said, his fantasy value is virtually nonexistent, while Cessa is a very cheap, under-the-radar daily option against the Rays Wednesday.--Mauricio Castillo
