Luis Cessa Comes Up Small In Defeat
6 years agoNew York Yankees spot starter Luis Cessa had another opportunity Wednesday night as he took over for CC Sabathia, who was placed on the DL this week. The Mexican native failed to give his club length, lasting just 3 1/3 innings and surrendering five runs on seven hits. This continues what has been a career trend for the 26-year-old, who now has a 5.60 ERA this season. Making matters worse for the Yankees, the offense couldn’t muster up more than one run as they went down in the Bronx. Luckily for the club, it appears Sabathia won’t miss an extended period of time and may very well make his next start. Cessa, meanwhile, was demoted back to Triple-A after his start.
