Luis Castillo Roughed Up On Opening Day
Luis Castillo did not fare well in his Opening Day start against the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday. Castillo allowed 10 runs (eight earned) over 3 1/3 innings of work while walking two. He did not log a single strikeout in the 11-6 loss. Castillo was done in by a six-run first inning which was punctuated by a three-run homer by Dylan Carlson. The Cincinnati ace got off to a late start this spring thanks to travel issues, which, along with the cold temperatures on Opening Day, may have affected his performance. He will look to bounce back in a plus matchup against the Pittsburgh Pirates the next time he takes the mound.
