Luis Campusano Undergoes Thumb Surgery
2 years agoSan Diego Padres catcher Luis Campusano (thumb) underwent surgery to repair a ligament in his left thumb on Friday. He's anticipated to be out for at least eight weeks. The 24-year-old injured the thumb back in April and landed on the 10-day injured list as a result. However, things haven't gone in the right direction, so he'll miss more time moving forward. Campusano seemed to be working on a stable role in the lineup before going down. He appeared in seven games this season, collecting five hits, three runs, and two RBI while batting .227. For now, Brett Sullivan and Austin Nola will handle things behind home plate.
