Ludvig Aberg Plans To Play At Torrey Pines This Week
1 month agoAfter withdrawing from Pebble Beach two weeks ago after posting a first-round 77, Ludvig Aberg (illness) will attempt to return this week at Torrey Pines for the relocated Genesis Invitational. While no one can deny the talent level of the young Swede, there is considerable risk here given what's been on display in his last two events -- one being at this venue a month ago. His ball-striking hasn't been as good as last season, and he's lost strokes on the greens in both showings (an average of minus-1.305). There will likely be plenty of weeks where playing Aberg makes total sense, but this week doesn't feel like one.

Ludvig Aberg Wins Genesis Invitational
2 weeks agoLudvig Aberg won the Genesis Invitational last month and is now focusing on preparing for this week's Arnold Palmer Invitational, held at Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill Club. Aberg's only other appearance in this tournament was last year, where he finished tied for 25th place. Over the past 12 months, Aberg has ranked in the 82nd percentile for greens in regulation percentage on approach shots from 150-200 yards in the fairway. This is noteworthy because, at last year's Arnold Palmer Invitational, over 35% of approach shots came from this distance. Aberg has been performing well this year and could be a strong addition to DFS lineups.

Ludvig Aberg Falters After Strong Start At Farmers Insurance Open
2 months agoLudvig Aberg started strong with a nine-under par in the first round of last week's Farmers Insurance Open, putting him at the top of the leaderboard heading into the second round. However, he ended up finishing in a tie for 42nd place, marking his worst finish since missing the cut at The Open Championship in July of last year. Aberg will now focus on this week's ATT Pebble Beach Pro-Am, where he finished second at last year's edition. Considering that Aberg may have fallen ill after his first round last week, he could be a solid addition to DFS lineups this week.

Ludvig Aberg Returns To The Sentry
2 months agoLudvig Aberg kicks off the 2025 season at The Plantation Course for this week's The Sentry tournament. In 2024, Aberg finished tied for 47th and lost strokes in every category except for approach shots. However, he ended the 2024 season on a high note, achieving four consecutive top-20 finishes, which included a tie for second place and a sixth-place finish in his last four tournaments. It's noteworthy that over the past 12 months, Aberg ranks in the 90th percentile for proximity to the hole on approach shots from over 200 yards in the fairway. At last year's The Sentry, more than 21% of approach shots were taken from that distance. Given these factors, Aberg could be a strong candidate for DFS lineups this week.

Ludvig Aberg Looks To Defend RSM Classic Title
4 months agoLudvig Aberg scorched the field with a minus-29 score to pick up his first and only PGA Tour win at the 2023 RSM Classic. The 25-year-old Swede hasn't teed off since the Tour Championship in early September following meniscus surgery on his left knee. However, the No. 5-ranked golfer has stated in press conferences this week that he's 100% healthy and has been preparing for this tournament for the last six weeks. He's clearly the class of the field and he ranks inside of the top 25 in the field off the tee, on approach, around the green, birdie-or-better percentage, and Bermuda putting over the last 24 rounds. Fantasy managers should have no hesitation rostering Aberg this week, and it certainly wouldn't be a surprise to see him emerge victorious once again in Sea Island.
