2 years agoCincinnati Reds relief pitcher Lucas Sims (back) is set to undergo season-ending surgery to repair a herniated disc in his back next week. By electing to undergo the surgery now, Sims will be on track for spring training next year. The 28-year-old was held to just six appearances this year. He attempted to pitch through his back pain while in action this year, but it eventually became too much to handle. He struggled while on the mound in 2022, pitching to a 9.45 ERA and a 1.65 WHIP over 6.2 innings.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
