Lucas Sims Likely To Be Activated From IL Sunday
3 years agoCincinnati Reds manager David Bell said that there's a "good chance" that relief pitcher Lucas Sims (elbow) is activated from the injured list on Sunday, according to Bobby Nightengale of the Cincinnati Enquirer. Sims has been out since late June with a right elbow strain, and prior to that he had been one of the better options for saves in the Reds' bullpen this season, going 4-1 with seven saves, a 5.02 ERA, 1.326 WHIP and 34.9 percent strikeout rate over 28 2/3 innings of work. The Reds have turned to Heath Hembree and Michael Lorenzen for closer duties right now, and it's likely that Sims will really only be an option in SV/HLD formats going forward.
