Lucas Giolito Goes Five Innings In Latest Rehab Start
17 seconds agoBoston Red Sox right-hander Lucas Giolito (hamstring) made his fourth minor-league rehab start on Sunday with Double-A Portland and allowed three earned runs on six hits (one homer) while walking none and fanning four in five innings of work. Over his four rehab starts with Portland and Triple-A Worcester, the 30-year-old veteran has allowed seven earned runs on 15 hits (one homer allowed) while walking seven and striking out 13 in 12 2/3 innings pitched. He got up to 65 pitches in his outing on Easter Sunday and is expected to need at least one more rehab outing on the farm before the Red Sox consider activating him from the 15-day injured list to make his debut with Boston. Fantasy managers need to remember that Giolito didn't pitch at all in 2024 after having an internal-brace procedure on his right elbow, so he's certainly going to be eased back in.
