Lourdes Gurriel Jr. Says “He’s Fine” After HBP
11 months agoArizona Diamondbacks outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. (hand) says he feels fine after leaving Friday’s spring training game versus the Chicago Cubs. He was hit in the hand by a fastball from Cubs pitcher Kyle Hendricks and was removed from the game shortly after. He went 1-for-1 with a double before exiting Friday’s contest. Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo described it as a hand contusion and said no X-rays were needed. The 30-year-old is considered day-to-day and could be ready to play as soon as Saturday. He is hitting .389 with a home run and four RBI over seven games this spring. Gurriel is a solid pick at his current NFBC ADP of 224 and will look to build on his 2023 campaign, where he hit 24 homers and logged 82 RBI over 554 at-bats in 2023.
