Lourdes Gurriel Jr. Running It Back With Arizona
11 months agoOutfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. will re-sign with the Arizona Diamondbacks on a three-year deal. Gurriel can opt out after year two and there is a club option for a fourth year. The 30-year-old made his first All-Star appearance in 2023. Gurriel Jr. was part of a December 2022 trade, moving from the Toronto Blue Jays with Gabriel Moreno to Arizona for Daulton Varsho. 2023 saw the Cuban regain the pop he was without in 2022. He ended up with a .463 slugging percentage and a career-high 24 home runs. Gurriel Jr. was a much better hitter at Chase Field last season with a 119 OPS+ compared to 97 on the road. He does not need to be earned in all fantasy leagues but he's a decent four-category contributor for managers who roster him.
