Lourdes Gurriel Jr. Out Again On Friday
4 months agoArizona Diamondbacks outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. (undisclosed) will sit out a second straight game due to undisclosed soreness in the series opener on Friday versus the visiting Toronto Blue Jays. Gurriel's soreness doesn't sound like anything serious, so he should be back in Arizona's lineup for the final two games of the first half of the season on Saturday and Sunday. With the 30-year-old out again, veteran Randal Grichuk will start in left field and bat sixth for the Snakes against Blue Jays rookie right-hander Yariel Rodriguez. Gurriel broke a seven-game hitting streak in his last game played on Wednesday, when he went 0-for-4. During his seven-game streak to begin the month of July, he went 9-for-31 (.290) with two homers, two doubles, seven RBI and a stolen base. The Cuban outfielder has been solid for fantasy managers in 2024 with 13 bombs, 55 RBI and 42 runs scored in his 346 at-bats.
