In his last bout, Allen defeated Chris Curtis via split decision. Before this fight, Allen was on a tear winning seven fights in a row and was looking to force his way into the top 5. In 15 minutes of action, Allen landed a takedown and 30 significant strikes. With the loss, Allen's UFC record is now 12-3.
