Louis Oosthuizen Lets One Round Destroy His Chances At Winning
7 years agoLouis Oosthuizen, currently the 29th-ranked player in the official World Golf rankings, played solid golf all week long at the WGC-Mexico Championship, except for his third round. In that round, he struggled mightily, finishing the day with a 76. Every other round was a score of even par or better, including a first-round 64. He finished in 30th place. He has only played three events this year and only missed one cut, his first event of the year. He has shown flashes of putting himself in contention, as witnessed this past week, but it seems as though he will place himself around the front half of the competition when a tournament is complete. Expect similar results at the Valspar Championship this week. Don’t expect a win, but don’t be surprised to see him in contention or near the leaderboard at least once during the tournament.
